I'm so glad you are here.

I'm Leticia Pimentel, a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP). You might be wondering what that means and I will gladly explain. Nutrition is the most important tool we have in order to allow our bodies to heal from all sorts of disease. As a NTP, my priority is to teach you to connect with food and help you develop your own rituals associated with it, to make you understand the importance of knowing where your food comes from, teaching you about the body's necessity for nutrient dense foods, on the contrary of the processed and hyperpalatable foods which are engineered to make us "crave for more" while depleting us from real nutrition.

The human body is a complex structure, from tiny atoms and molecules to large systems with different organs and functions, working all together to keep us in balance. To maintain its balance, the body needs to be nourished properly. This process can only happen when we have the right amount of nutrients (water is one of them - the most important!). Thus, having a whole-food and properly prepared diet focused on bio-individual needs and proper hydration is fundamental to the optimal work of your body.

Our society today relies on convenience to keep up with a fast-paced life. We find ourselves constantly on-the-go and over-scheduled, lacking connection with others and with the world around us. Are we getting healthier? Do we miss sitting at the dinner table and looking at each others' eyes while being able to savor a meal together? We were created to live in harmony with nature and with each other. When we disconnect from these two important factors, we isolate ourselves and allow disease into our bodies.

Leticia Pimentel with her four children

As a mom to four little children, I found myself stressed and exhausted. Through my own experience of learning about my body and what it needs to be working well, I have changed habits and gained a whole new perspective about my health. When I started being educated on how food and lifestyle have an impact and could even change how my genes are expressed (Lynch, 2018), I became a new person. My energy levels went up, my mind became clear and I could experience the joy of being more active and enjoying life with my family.

This is why I became a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner! I know how moms are such a pillar of our society, how they set the example for the next generation and, therefore, need all the support to become their healthiest selves. It doesn't matter if you are a new mom or an experienced grandma, most certainly you need help to learn how to better support your body at your stage of life (hormones, digestion, blood sugar, stress levels, hydration, and more), providing adequate nutrition and reconnecting with the food you eat and all the sweet moments that are usually shared along with a meal. I'm here for you! Let's begin your journey towards a healthier life!
